The Associated Collegiate Press Spring National College Media Conference is set for March 6-8, 2025 in Long Beach, California, south of Los Angeles, at the Hyatt Regency. Our conference attracts collegiate journalists and advisers from across the nation.

Joining ACP for the conference will be two California collegiate-media organizations — the California College Media Association and the Journalism Association of Community Colleges

This year, ACP is offering a Student Media Summit. We will focus our 160+ sessions, panels and roundtables focused on what we do and how we can do it better. We will reexamine our practices and look at ways to increase our audience engagement with our readers and listeners. The lively sessions and speakers allow us to confirm our relevance, serve our readership and examine revenue streams for our media outlets. It’s a time to look at the digital renaissance of college media, study innovations to help our media outlets and look at training models to help our readership reach.

In addition, we feature 13 simultaneous hourly sessions and 20+ roundtables for you to talk with your colleagues from across the country. Our three keynote speakers and Meet with a Pro and Editor-in-Residence opportunities provide opportunities to hear from and interact with journalism professionals. Registration and our exhibitor area will be outside the ballroom.

On-site Media Critiques are one of the most helpful — and most popular — features of the convention. Staff members and advisers sit down with an experienced adviser or professional journalist and review their student media.

Compete for the iconic ACP Best of Show trophy and the bragging rights as the best advertising media kit, broadcast news program, digital newsletter, magazine, newspaper/newsmagazine, website and yearbook represented at the convention.

While the professional judges select the Best of Show winners, you help select the top print publications by voting in our People Choice Awards.

And, don’t forget to enter the Individual Recognition Best of Show contests with 12 categories including advertisement, broadcast, design, photojournalism and reporting.

On Saturday, the prestigious ACP Pacemaker will be presented for Business, Online and Yearbook.

What makes ACP’s Spring National College Media Conference different? We not only provide you such great speakers and opportunities in sessions, but we also offer you breakfast on Friday and Saturday.

The spring conference typically attracts more than 850 registrants each year. It promises to be a great reflection of how we’ve done things in the past and how to refresh and renew our practices for success. It’s three days to recharge our batteries and better serve our readers and listeners.
